Because of their rich, creamy, and chocolatey taste, I always thought that Fudgsicles would be difficult to make. They really aren’t hard to make at all! All you need are five ingredients.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Unsweetened Cocoa
- Whole Milk
- Sugar
- Salt
- Vanilla Extract
If you have trouble digesting dairy, you can use lactose-free cow’s milk, which has all the same nutrients as regular milk — just without the lactose!
All you’re going to do is mix all the ingredients together until you get a thick pudding-like consistency, yet still smooth enough to pour. In fact, the chocolate mixture that you will freeze into these Fudgsicles is practically chocolate pudding. You can also eat it as such if you want! Just make sure you cool it down first.
These Fudgesicles are super chocolatey, smooth and absolutely perfect for chocolate lovers on a hot day. Love homemade pops? Cool off with Mint Chocolate Chip Greek Yogurt Pops and Milk & Cereal Breakfast Popsicles, too!
Homemade Fudgesicles
Ingredients
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cups whole milk or lactose-free milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Using a fine-mesh strainer, sift the cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and cornstarch together to remove any clumps. Place the dry ingredients in a medium saucepan.
- Turn the heat on medium. Using a whisk, slowly pour in the milk and continue to stir to work out any additional clumps. As you stir, the mixture will thicken, this should take between 5-10 minutes.
- Once the mixture has reached the consistency of smooth pudding, remove from heat and allow to cool at room temperature. Once cooled, add the vanilla extract and stir. Pour into the popsicle molds and place them in your freezer overnight.
- Run the molds under warm water to loosen the popsicles and serve.
