Kimberly Bishop, Beavercreek, OH Receives 2010 Louise Sublette Award
Kimberly Bishop, school nutrition employee at Shaw Elementary in Beavercreek School District received the Louise Sublette Award of Excellence during the SNA Ohio Conference on June 18, 2010.
Ms. Bishop was recognized for creating and implementing wellness activities to educate students about the benefits of drinking milk. Using signs, prizes and nutrition facts from the American Dairy Association Mideast's Fuel Up to Play 60 school wellness kit, Kim created a myriad of displays, daily milk themed announcements, demonstrations and fun activities illustrating just how important milk is to young growing bodies. Milk consumption increased by more than 150 units per week!
Kim had other teachers integrating wellness messages into their school day as well. The physical education teacher included "Milk. It Does a Body Good' messaging in class and students participated in a poster art contest that filled the school with colorful dairy cows!
The American Dairy Association Mideast extends our congratulations to Kimberly Bishop and Shaw Elementary School for their positive energy with this dairy-fun wellness initiative. Congratulations Kim!!! To learn more about this award and to nominate your school next year visit
